Obituary for George Elliott Guffin Jr.
George Elliott Guffin, Jr. passed away January 6, 2020. A service will be held Thursday, January 9th at 12 pm in the chapel of Sebrell Funeral Home with a visitation at 11 am. George was born in Charleston, SC on June 26, 1931 to the late George Elliott Guffin, Sr. and Bertha Plowden Guffin. George served his country in the Korean War stationed in Alaska as a member of the Air Forece. He began his career with Deluxe Check Printers in Jackson, MS in June of 1956 and worked as a sales representative until he retired in 1981 covering several states. George was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and Colonial Country Club. He loved playing golf and socializing with friends. His loving wife Frances Watson Guffin predeceases him. He is survived by his children, George E. Guffin, III. (Lexanne) and Gail Guffin Halford (Frank); grandchildren, Alexander Guffin Finestone (Josh); Amie Guffin Henderson (Peter); George Elliott Guffin, IV.; Kristin Halford Davis (Travis); Shawn Halford (Shelly) and five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild . In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital Office Development, Blair E.
