Obituary for Franklin Pierce "Frank" Whites, Sr.
Franklin Pierce “Frank” Whites, Sr., 90, died peacefully September 21, 2021 at his home in Brandon, Mississippi. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Frank was born in Louisville, Mississippi on March 12, 1931 to Max and Ruby Cannon Whites. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1949 and was a member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church in Louisville where he served as Deacon for many years. Frank retired from a long career with Southern Natural Gas Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and making crabapple jelly. Frank loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
His parents, Max and Ruby Cannon Whites, and his brothers, O. D. Whites, Billie Max Whites and David Whites preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of almost 72 years, Peggy Wood Whites; his two sons, Frank Whites, Jr. of Brandon, Mississippi, and Robert (Renee) Whites of Clayton, North Carolina; his brother, Dr. Jack (Sally) Whites of Birmingham, Alabama; his four grandchildren, Chelsea (Doug) Archibald, Jace Whites, Giffin Whites, and Whitney (Will) Cox; his four great-grandchildren, Riley Archibald, Cameron Cox, Silas Cox, Landon Cox; and several nephews, nieces and special friends.
The family would like to thank all of the hospice workers who took such good care of Frank over the last 3+ years.
