Obituary for Frank Edward Hart, Jr.
Frank Edward Hart, Jr., entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 9. He had been a resident of Beau Ridge Memory Care since March 2019. Frank was born on April 1, 1949, and was the son of Frank Edward Hart, Sr., and Margaret Walker Hart of Jackson. Frank attended the public schools of Jackson and graduated from Callaway High School in 1967. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Ole Miss in 1973. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
His 40+ professional career was in banking, and was spent at UNIFIRST Savings and Loan, and TRUSTMARK NATIONAL BANK, where he served in several areas of expertise. He truly treasured his association with his colleagues at TRUSTMARK and gained lifelong friends. Frank was always referred to as the man “wearing the same hat everyday” – true to his convictions. Frank also was a member of the Colonial Country Club of Jackson where he served on its Board of Directors. Although his work schedule did not allow for consistent play, Frank was an avid golf enthusiast. He loved his friends at Colonial, especially the comradery of the men of the 19th Hole and the Outlaws!! Frank was a member, deacon, and usher of First Baptist Church Jackson.
Frank’s love was his family. He met his wife, Eva Carolyn Aultman while finishing his career at Ole Miss after serving in the military. They married in 1973. Frank truly ‘bled red and blue’ and was a Loyalty Club member. His only child, Dara, was the apple of his eye. Although she was a graduate of Mississippi State University, Frank said that he “let her back into the will” after she graduated with a BSN degree in Nursing from UMMC. She and her husband, Doug Newman blessed Frank with two precious grandchildren, Margaret Douglas and Knox Miller Newman.
Special gratitude goes out to his dear friends Wally Kennedy and Bob Spaulding, who were always diligent in their ‘gifts of presence’ to him while he was at Beau Ridge. Special thanks to the entire staff of Beau Ridge Memory Care, Debby Gooch, Josh Lorenz, Gregory Smith, especially his special care partner Samson Sulton, Mamie Rushing, and fellow resident, Dan Corley. Compassus Hospice gave Frank the loving attention and care he needed in his last days. The family expresses debts of gratitude for the support they received from the Deacons and other caring members of First Baptist Jackson while Frank was ill.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 14th, in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Jackson. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 AM, and the Service at 11:00 AM. Sebrell Funeral Home oversees all arrangements.
Memorial gifts may be given to Madison Ridgeland Academy, 7601 Old Canton Road, Madison, MS 39110, in honor of his two grandchildren, Margaret Douglas, age 11, and Knox Miller, age 8, who are students there.
