Obituary for Frances Mellon Weissinger
Frances Mellon Weissinger 68, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home in Clinton.
Frances was born in Vicksburg, MS to the late Joe Smith and Edna Clark Mellon of Bolton, MS. She lived in Long Beach, MS for 33 years, before moving to Clinton, MS in 2006 after losing her house in Hurricane Katrina. She attended Raymond High School in Raymond, MS and Mississippi College in Clinton, MS
Frances was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach. In recent years she was an active member of the core group reviving historic St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Bolton, MS, the church she grew up in. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, fishing and her beloved animals.
Frances is survived by her husband of 43 years Charles Weissinger of Clinton, MS. Her two sets of twins: Fred Weissinger of Moss Point, MS and Joe Weissinger of Atlanta, GA and Thomas Weissinger (Jessica) of Atlanta, GA and Donna Weissinger Evans (Mitchel) and granddaughter Madison of Colorado Springs, CO; sister Marty Mellon of Jackson, MS; brothers Joe Mellon (Barbara) of Clinton; Richard Mellon (Lou Ann) and Bobby Mellon (Carolyn) of Bolton, MS.
