Obituary for Frances Clark Stutzman
“And the greatest of these is love” Frances Clark Stutzman or Francoise as she preferred to be called, left this world May 18, 2022 to be with our Lord and the love of her life for 63 years, Russell, while listening to Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero” serenading her, their music.

Wife, mother, grandmother and artist, her greatest joy was her family and to serve others.

Francoise was born in Perry, Ohio October 12, 1936 to the late Lottie and Arthur Clark, the middle one of five children. Clark Nursery grew many of the trees and shrubs for their area and everyone in the family helped to run it. This work ethic served her well over the years. She met her husband, Russell, at Perry High School and life has been an adventure for the two of them living in Ohio, Georgia, Mississippi, South Florida and several cities in Europe. They were a force the two of them—smart, charismatic and adventuresome. Francoise loved to entertain, meet new people and learn, all with the touch of a soulful artist. Progressive and broad-minded, she enjoyed an eclectic group of friends from all over the world. One friend in particular, Sandy in Florida, has hand-written her letters every week for the past 10 years. She studied Art at the University of South Alabama and various workshops in the U.S and abroad. Her favorite places to spend time was with her family and the Louvre.

Francoise is survived by two children, son Mark Stutzman, Crystal Springs, MS, and daughter Lisa Stutzman-Graves Madison, Ms, brother Herb Clark and sister Susie Boyes both of Florida
Three grandchildren, Ryan Skelly, Santa Monica, CA, Anna Marie Stutzman, Crystal Springs, Hannah Stutzman, Crystal Springs.

The family would like to thank our angel here on earth, her sitter, Jennifer Castro. They bonded much deeper than caregiver and patient. Also deep gratitude to our nurse, Kevin Tucker with Sta At Home Hospice. Kevin was a paramedic in Desert Storm, parachuting in twelve times to give medial attention. He is epitomy of calm, caring, and knowledgable. We thank him for his service to our country and our family.

In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to:

Millsaps College. Francoise loved the broad-based, liberal arts education her grandson, Ryan received from Millsaps. She, Ryan and Russell enjoyed many conversations discussing the wonderful world of the arts and reliving all their travels to the artistic and historical sites he was studying.

Service will be held Saturday June 4, 2022 at Chapel of the Cross in Madison, MS , 11am visitation, 12 noon service and graveside burial following at the historic Chapel of the Cross.
