Obituary for Florence J. Phillips
Florence Johnson Phillips died on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was 93.

A native of Denver, CO and born May 9, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Walfred T. and Herbee Johnson.

Mrs. Phillips graduated nursing school in 1947 and then had a long and dedicated career in her service to the nursing profession that spanned over 40 years. Following her retirement from nursing, she was a well-known greeter at the Government Street Wal-Mart for 17 years, a job which she loved as she made many friends along the way. She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Judith Phillips.

She is survived by her sons, David Phillips, of Brandon, MS and Mark Phillips (Terri Powell), of Meridian, MS; grandchildren, Keely Sexton (James), of Los Angeles, Taylor Phillips, of Meridian, and Alexandra Phillips, of Nashville.

A service is being planned for January. Details will be announced.
