Flavia Elenora Kiker Hampton, 101, passed away peacefully April 16, 2023 at her home in Pocahontas, Ms. Flavia was born to Alex and Mary Beatrice Kiker on February 28, 1922 in Bunkie Louisiana. At 22 months of age her mother sadly passed away and she was raised by her grandmother Virginia Kiker until her dad remarried. She grew up in Belzoni, MS graduating from Belzoni High School and was a member of the championship basketball team. She worked for Jockey International in Belzoni and retired after 32 years of service. After retirement Flavia moved to Pocahontas to live with her son Donnie and his family.
Flavia was a member of First Baptist Church in Clinton, MS where she was an adult ladies Sunday school teacher for many years.
Flavia loved her family so much and was always worrying about how they were doing. She loved her dogs just as much as her family and took great care of them. Flavia was an excellent cook and some family favorites were her homemade chocolate pies and fresh apple cake.
She is preceded in death by husband, Cleve Hampton, daughter Betty Hampton England, son-in-law Joel England, Sr., parents Alex and Mary Beatrice Kiker, stepmother Lida Mae Estes Kiker, brothers B. L. Kiker, and Sonny Kiker.
She is survived by her children, son Buddy Hampton (Sharon) Greenwood, LA, and Donnie Hampton (Cindy) Jackson, MS. Her grandchildren Joel England, Jr. (Dorothy Fox), Chris England (Lori), Chad Hampton (Kristie), Jana Hampton Cardy (Jeremy), Wes Hampton (Sarah), Melissa Hampton Denson (Josh). Her great grandchildren, Andrew England (Caitlin), Lyssa England Wilson (Joey), Krista England, Christian England, Lynden Hampton, Elledge Hampton, Brylee Cardy, Hudson Cardy, Emerson Cardy, Hayden Rae Hampton, Grange Hampton and great grandchildren Levi Wilson, Bethany Wilson. Flavia is
also survived by her sisters Ann Kiker Hanson, Nell Kiker Harris and sister in law Ollie Ruth Hampton. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Home Instead caregivers Debbie Jones and Angie Randall for their excellent service.
Funeral service will be held –Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Gooden Lake Baptist Church, Belzoni, MS with burial immediately following at the church. Visitation will be at 10:00-11:00 with the service at 11:00.
