Obituary for Elizabeth Hogue Marsh

Elizabeth Hogue Marsh, age 53, died July 18 at UMMC. She is the daughter of Betty Hogue Marsh and Bob Lanier Marsh of Madison, Mississippi. Elizabeth attended First Presbyterian Day School and Jackson Prep. 


She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education, a Master of Education Administration and a Juris Doctor degree. 


While at Ole Miss she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Upon graduation from Ole Miss, Elizabeth worked briefly with the Luckett Tyner Law firm in Clarksdale Mississippi, then proceeded into her teaching career, including Holly Springs Mississippi School District, Cobb County Georgia Schools, Gwinnett County Georgia School District, and the Madison County Mississippi School District, where she taught at Madison Middle School. Elizabeth retired from teaching in 2018 to pursue a career in photography.


Elizabeth loved animals and gardening. She was a kind soul and particularly loved Miss Kitty, her tuxedo cat that came with the house she purchased in Madison County. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. 


A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
