Obituary for Edward "Eddie" Thomas Malone
Edward Thomas Malone “Eddie”, 81, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 in his home in Terry, MS. He was born on July 20, 1939 in Richton, MS to the late Thomas and Christine Malone. He loved Ole Miss Football, watching his grandkids play any sport, snow skiing, water sports and NASCAR. He worked over 49 years as a produce manager at Kroger. He was extremely loyal to the Kroger company including the brand name, keeping up with the employees and basically all things Kroger up until his death. After he retired he became an avid gardener and enjoyed taking baskets of fruits and vegetables to his neighbors. He also loved woodworking and enjoyed making furniture for his wife and children. He was a devoted husband and father and will be missed dearly.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Helen Hopper Malone; his children, Christy Murphy (Scott), Michael Malone (Julie) and Nicole Ketchum (Todd). He leaves his grandchildren, Josh and Cori Murphy; Kent and Ashlyn Malone, Shaylin Georgen; Matthew, Andrew and Joseph Ketchum; his sisters, Easter Faye Dearman (Pinky) and Edna Ruth Lee (Dude); and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11 AM with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating. The visitation starts at 10 AM until 11 AM at Wynndale Baptist Church in Terry, MS. The graveside service will be at Eastside Baptist Church Cemetery in Richton, MS at 3:30 PM.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Michael Malone, Scott Murphy, Todd Ketchum, Josh Murphy, Kent Malone and Matthew Ketchum.
Honorary pallbearers are Eddie’s Sunday School Class.
