Edgar Rufus “Ed” Trigleth, age 97, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Jackson Veterans Home. His wife of 74 years, Earnestine Irene Johnson Trigleth, age 90, followed him on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at St. Dominic’s Hospital. Ed and Irene were married on July 19, 1944.

Edgar, “Ed” was a native of Coxburg, Mississippi and was the son of the late Milton E. and Josie Flodberg Trigleth. He served in the United States Navy then went on to retire from a thirty plus year career at Sperry Vickers in Jackson, MS.

Irene, a native of Farmhaven, Mississippi was the daughter of the late Clark A. and Gertrude Shivers Johnson. She worked for many years at Sears and Roebuck Co.

Edgar and Irene met as young adults at a Church of God camp meeting. Their Christian faith was central to their relationship, their home, and their values. Faith in God gave them strength in times of sorrow, compassion for others, and eternal hope. They were exemplary human beings who were devoted to each other and their family as husband and wife, loving parents, beloved brother, sister, grandparents and great grandparents.

Ed and Irene are preceded in death by their parents, their son, Stephen Dale Trigleth, and their daughter, Pamela Trigleth Oden.

They are survived by their son, Michael Trigleth, of Salt Lake City. Grandchildren: Angie Jones (Brett Jones), Amy Trigleth, Stephanie Trigleth, Scott Sims, and Jarrod Trigleth; Great-grandchildren: Clark Sims, Christian Sims, Jagger Jones, Judson Jones, and Silas Trigleth Crabtree.
