Obituary for Dustin H. "Dusty" Coley
Dustin H. “Dusty” Coley died suddenly on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Copiah County Medical Center in Hazlehurst. He was 36. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Pine Bluff Baptist Church in Dentville, Pastor Stephen Byrd, officiating. A native and lifelong resident of Dentville, and born October 10, 1983, he was the son of Carolyn King Coley and Harlon E. Coley. Dusty was a wonderful, kind, and loving young man who never met a stranger and lived his life to the fullest. He loved many things but especially the Lord, his family and the United States Flag. Everyone who knew Dusty might find him singing and praying at church, riding four-wheelers along the creek, or simply spending time with his family and being a protective brother to Matthew. He loved old cars and going out to eat. Dusty was a special person with the sweetest soul and gentlest spirit. He was goofy and fun-loving. He made the most of his short life by loving others. He never forgot a face. It did not matter how long time had passed, if he met you once, he remembered you and called you a friend. And while the pain of losing him is overwhelming, we know that he is with God face to face. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold King and Homer Lee Coley. Dusty was never without his mother who survives him, Carolyn King Coley, of Dentville. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Lance Coley (Sondra), of Calera, AL; sister, Kimberlee Coley, of Georgetown; his little brother with whom he shared a most special bond, Matthew Coley, of Dentville; maternal grandmother, Mattie Sue Smith King, of Dentville; paternal grandmother, Audra Coley, of Union Church; special uncle, Alan King, of Dentville; nephew, Braedan Coley; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Dusty’s name to Mississippi’s Toughest Kids Foundation, Camp for Special Needs, 123 E. Georgetown St, Crystal Springs, MS 39059 or by visiting www.mtkfound.com or to the Pine Bluff-Dentville Cemetery Foundation, PO Box 51, Hazlehurst, MS 39083. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Allen, Prentiss Coley, Roy Coley, James “Bubby” Patrick, Cecil Coley, Coby Coley and Herbert Strong.
