Obituary for Doyce Calvin Tucker
Doyce C. Tucker died on January 5, 2019. He was born July 20, 1936, in Carthage, Mississippi, to Irma and Carnett Tucker. He had an aptitude for math and graduated from MSU with a degree in engineering and spent a career as a civil engineer at both the FHA and MDOT. He loved golf, poker, dominos, and his late cat Alice, but, mostly, his family: wife Judy, children Jane, Carol, and John, and his granddaughter Katie Tumbleston. He is survived by his immediate family as well as his sister Nelda Hintonand niece Missy Willingham. His two other sisters, Chris Lamb and Tommie Willingham, predeceased him. He will be remembered as an honest and kind man; in retirement he sold used cars but was too honest to be very good at it (not that he would ever admit that). There will be a memorial service at his home in North Jackson at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the animal rescue Cheshire Abbey, P.O. Box 16330, Jackson, MS 39236.
