Douglas Ford Addison, age 79, died peacefully at his home in Richland on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Mr. Addison was born of December 22, 1942 in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of the late Max and Janie Addison. Mr. Addison served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army for over 30 years, retiring as a Sergeant Major.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Addison, his son, William Addison, his son, James Sayers, a daughter, Cynthia Addison, his mother Janie Addison and father Max Addison and brothers, Billy Paul Modjeski and James Hawkins.
He is survived by son Donnie Sayers, son Jerry Sayers, son Ronnie Addison, brother Dennis Modkeski, sister Rhonda Addison, sister Betty Ann McNeece, brother Phillip Hawkins, sister Gloria Garland, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial following in Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 PM at Sebrell funeral Home Monday, January 31, 2022 and will continue at 12 Noon Tuesday.
