DOROTHY “DOT” WILLIAMS BROWN

Dorothy Jean “Dot” Williams Brown died on January 7, 2020 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was 81.

Born January 5, 1939 in Taylorsville, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie and Bessie Jordan Williams.

Dot was a graduate of Taylorsville High School where she was a proud majorette. For many years, she worked as a teller with Deposit Guaranty National Bank. She loved football and Ole Miss Sports. A Southern belle at heart, she loved to sing and had a lovely and joyous sense of humor. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Buster Luke “Buck” Brown; sisters, Jimmie Ruth Williams and Billie Grace Howell; and brother, Harold Williams.

She is survived by her sons, Bryan L. Brown (Karen), of Raymond, and Craig Brown, of Brandon; daughter, Mara Brown Boyles, of Jackson; sister, Bettye Jenkins, of Hattiesburg; brother, Mitchell Williams (Patricia), of Taylorsville; grandchildren: Danielle Brown, Bryan Brown, Jr. (Rachel), Brittany Boyles, and Brandon Boyles; great grandchildren: Joely Brown, Ashton O’Bryan, Lilly Belle Brown, and Ruthie Grace Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Taylorsville.
