Obituary for Doris McAbee Batte
Doris Batte, 92 passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 after a brief illness. Doris was born December 6, 1928 in East Laurinburg, NC to James McAbee and Viola Gibson McAbee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James E. (Sonny) McAbee and her husband, Edwin Batte.

Doris graduated from Central High School in Jackson and Mississippi College. She also attended Belhaven College. Doris was a homemaker for many years before joining her husband in the insurance business. She later worked for Wellington and Associates alongside her husband as well.

She was a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and later Redeemer Church Jackson.

Survivors include daughters, Carol Ann Franklin and her husband Johnny; Jamie Goodwin and a son, Eddie Batte and his wife Madonna. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved greatly.

The family will be having a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, 5221 Greenway Drive Ext. Jackson, MS 39204 or to Palmer Home, P.O. Box 746 Columbus, MS 39073 in our mom’s memory.
