Obituary for Donald Lee Forbush
Donald Lee Forbush of Canton, gained his heavenly wings at his Canton home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Born August 25, 1938 in Huntington, WV, he was the son of Rev. & Mrs. C. E. Forbush. Bro Don was a dedicated Christian who gave his life and gifted voice to serving God at an early age. He loved to sing southern gospel music and was a member of several quartet groups. He enjoyed leading church praise and worship as well as being choir director. He was an amazing trumpet player and enjoyed using this talent in church services. Bro. Forbush was a member of Parkway Church of Madison, MS. During his life he recorded several gospel music projects. In his home studio he loved recording other upcoming artist and their music. He touched many lives with his spirit filled voice. His final words were “Some call it Heaven but I call it Home”. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Earnest Forbush, Robert Forbush and James Forbush. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Elaine. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Tami Boyett (David), Tambra Johnson, Jennifer Loeffler (Harry) and Andy Ashley, his seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Ora Mae McQuaig and Patricia Cohron (George) and brother Joe (Jo) Forbush, and two sister-in-law’s Deretha Forbush and Constance Forbush. He is fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Home Going celebration will be Friday, Feb 26 at Parkway Church, Madison, Ms. Visitation will be 10:30 with services at 11:00. Graveside service will be at 1:00 pm at Lone Pine Cemetery, Canton, MS. Arrangements are being made through Sebrell Funeral Home of Ridgeland. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don Forbush’s name can be made to the Building Fund of Parkway Church.
