Obituary for Don Preston Lacy
Don Preston Lacy, 80, died Saturday,February 26, 2022 at home. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at St. Philip ‘s Episcopal Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with inurnment following in the church columbarium.
Mr. Lacy was born on October 10, 1941, in Jackson, the son of the late, Joel and Ruth Lacy. A graduate of the Murrah High School Class of 1959, he continued his education earning a Bachelor’s Degree in 1963 from Millsaps College. While at Millsaps, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Mr. Lacy earned his Jurist Doctorate in 1967 from the University of Mississippi.
Mr. Lacy was a longtime member of the Mississippi Bar and practiced real estate law. Although a longtime resident of Jackson, he spent the last twelve years in Raymond.
Mr. Lacy was a communicant of the Episcopal Church, he enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and attending St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Raymond.
Mr. Lacy enjoyed playing golf and sitting on his porch visiting with his many friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Carl Lacy.
Survivors include: daughter, Elizabeth Lacy Lott and husband Chester of Raymond; son, David Lacy (Angela) of Pascagoula; grandchildren, William Yarbrough, Rachel Yarbrough and Joel Lacy.
