Obituary for Debbie Ann Kain
Debbie Rothenhoffer Kain
Debbie passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born in Valdosta, GA in 1953, but lived in several other states before settling in Jackson, MS almost 30 years ago. Debbie had over 40 years of dedicated service in the nursing profession. She received her nursing degree from Mississippi University for Women in 1980. She was a highly skilled and versatile RN always concerned with the care and needs of an increasingly complex patient population. Over the last few years she worked in the Dialysis Unit at St. Dominics. She also worked for several years at CMMC, now Merit Health Central, in the ER, on the PICC team and in Endoscopy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer L. and Colleen Rothenhoffer. She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Sheppard and Stacey Shepherd of Morton; grandchildren: Jensen Sheppard, Seth Shepherd, Chyler, Johnson, and Callie Shepherd: her sister, Sherry J. Purvis, and her brother Homer L. Rothenhoffer, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service is planned for a later date, due to covid concerns. Time and place will be announced well in advance. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation in Debbie’s name be given to St. Jude’s or to a charity of their choice.
