Obituary for Danny Joe Edgar
Danny Joe Edgar, 63, died June 7, 2021 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial following in Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Danny was born on February 8, 1958, in Mendenhall, Mississippi; the son of the late George and Lois Edgar. A skilled carpenter, he was capable of building and completing any project, whether in his business or personal, his attention to detail was his goal. Danny loved to play guitar and sing, he was known as “DJ Segar” for his love of Bob Segar music and his uncanny ability to sound like him.
Danny cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to take them camping on the Pearl River.
He will be remembered most as a loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather a beloved brother and loving friend to all who knew him.
Along with his parents, George and Lois Edgar, he is preceded in death by brother, Jay Buffington; sister, Christine Morrow; brother-in-laws, Dennis and Marvin Ramage; nephew, Phillip Ramage; nephew, Jamie McGowan; great niece, Reagan Keith.
Survivors include his wife, Christie Moore of Raymond; his children, Christopher Moore, Brandon Moore, Michael Moore, Brittany Moore all of Raymond; Brittney Alderman-Edgar of Richland; sisters, Nadine Norton and husband Joe of Pearl; Debbie Pickering of Morton; Annie Edgar Gray and husband Caley of Florence; brothers, Gerald Buffington and wife Wanda of Mt. Olive; Travis Buffington and wife Evelyn of Braxton; John Edgar of Richland; 14 grandchildren, a best friend/ nephew Tony (Max) Staugs, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
