Obituary for Danny Harold Crumbley
On this day, January 9, 2021 at age 70, Danny Harold Crumbley met his Lord Jesus Christ. He had a year's battle with agent orange from Vietnam, he suffered many nights and days and was on hospice for 3 years. Danny entered this world November 18, 1950 in Moorhead, Mississippi, to Hillrary and Mary Alice Jeffries Crumbley. Danny attended Calloway High School in Jackson, Mississippi and joined the Army in 1968. He was sent to Vietnam in 1968 where he would be for 2 years before returning home to Jackson. He spent 7 years in the Army. Danny loved to hunt and fish best. He excelled in baseball in school and into his adult life. He was a member of Tennie Branch Hunting Club. He enjoyed the deer camp and the friendship which he had with all the members. Danny is preceded in death by his grandparents the Jefferies from Moorhead; his mother and father, Hillrary and Mary Alice Jeffries Crumbley; a "baby sister" his brother. Michael Wayne Crumbley; his step-sons, Jason Hatten Walters, Roger T. Savell, II; Roger's twin sister, Brandi Carol Savell; his father and mother-in-law, Edgar "little man" & Massalee Smith Courtney whom loved so much. He is survived by his wife Brenda Crumbley of 17 years. Danny an Brenda were soul mates for 25 years. They were married in 2004 in Florida. Also surviving are his step-sister, Shirley McDrumon of Flora and his step-father, Ken Mabry of Jackson. Danny was lead to Christ in January 202o by Pastor Vic Bowman. He was to sick to be baptized Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, so the church members came to him. He was baptized in his master bath tub that Sunday evening by Pastor Bowman, He has been a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church since January 2020. His faith in God and the love for his church family helped him bear the unbearable, with prayers, phone calls, food, cards, and just anything he needed. Danny loved his John Deere tractor and sometimes he would ride and just to ride it even if there was no camp work to be done. He loved his fur babies, Roxie, Littleman, Boggie and he would tell you they were his babies. His wife wishes to thank that hospice team, Mt. Pisgah Church family, and Tennie Branch Hunting Club for being Danny's friends and for the memories they gave in his life's journey. Danny was a hard worker. As a crane operator in the Gulf and overseas with Yates Construction. He also worked with companies in Florida as a crane operator installing docks and seawalls. Danny was kind and tender hearted to all who knew and loved him. He was soft spoken, never met a stranger, and was hard to anger. He was a great man with many qualities, to know him was to love him. Crestview Memorial Gardens on Star Brandon Road, He was laid to rest beside his two sons, Jason and Roger, II., which he had a special connection with them, each in a different way. Remember Danny as he remembered everyone in his life, full of love, kindness, respect and most of all for his love of God. If you wish to honor Danny, please contribute to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Pisgah. As Danny would say "See ya later!!!" Last of all a very special thank you to Danny's nurse Ashley, know he had a special place in his heart for her, her caring and kindness as she carried out the duties as his nurse. She also was a wonderful friend who was only a phone call away. A thank you is just not enough for all she did for Danny. He truly loved her.
