Daniel Thomas Watkins, 59, of Lexington and Jackson, died Tuesday after a long illness at Greenwood-Leflore Hospital.
Visitation is 11:30 to 12:30 pm Saturday, September 30 at Sebrell Funeral Home, Ridgeland MS with family and friends invited for graveside services immediately following at Parkway Cemetery on Highland Colony Parkway.
Watkins was born and reared in Jackson. He attended Jackson Public Schools, graduating from Callaway High School. Watkins also attended Hinds Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. Watkins spent much of his adult life in the Carroll County area as a cattle farmer. He had a special love of Celtic music, hunting, family and friends.
Watkins was predeceased by his grandparents, M.T. and Edith Thornton Watkins of Vaiden and his parents, Walter and Frances Watkins. He is survived by his sisters, Virginia Lynn Watkins (Terry S. Williamson) and Sarah F. Watkins, both of Jackson, nephew, Thomas B. Williamson of Jackson, aunts Lorraine Brown Watkins of Forest and Caroline Jones Barker of Greenville, S.C. as well as many loving cousins in Mississippi, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
