Obituary for Dana Earl Kelly
Dana Earl Kelly passed from this life Saturday, February 26,2022, at the age of 64. He was born February 14, 1958, to the late Earnest Earl and Amanda Harding Kelly of Holly Spring, Ms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi. Dana was an avid reader, enjoyed boating, loved old houses and architecture, was a fabulous cook and a wealth of information. He had a servant’s heart that was seen in the way he cared for his clients through his law practice and the way he devoted his time for causes he was passionate about. A member of Northminster Baptist Church for over 30 years, Dana served as a deacon and on the building and maintenance committee. Dana had the distinction of being the youngest member ever appointed to the Board of the Baptist Memorial Health System, an organization he cared for deeply. He recently concluded another 6-year term and continued to be active on the Metro Board, Quality Committee, MS Baptist Medical Center Board, and North Mississippi Board. Dana could always be counted on in any situation and gave generously of his time and talent to the mission of the Baptist Memorial Health System. Dana was a loving father and a kind and generous grandfather. His deepest pride and joy came from the relationships with his 3 children and his 4 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Barry Blaine Kelly. Dana is survived by his wife Lisa Vickery Kelly; daughter Claire Kelly Scroggs (Evan); son, Larkin Reid Kelly; daughter Emily Lois Kelly; brother, Brian Leigh Kelly (Karen); sister, Amanda Kay Kelly; 4 grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday March 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Northminster Baptist Church with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation, 350 North Humphreys Blvd, Memphis, TN 38120 or at www.bmhgiving.org
