Cynthia Elaine Harrison, 63, died Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church in Flowood with interment following in Lakeland Place Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church.
Cynthia was born on April 28, 1960 in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Michael and Loye Watts. She worked as a teacher for 28 years at Oakdale Elementary School.
Cynthia loved and cherished her family. She and her husband raised their three children in the church. She was a devoted grandmother and loved her grandchildren dearly. Cynthia was a devoted Christian, who preached God’s love to all she met. She loved listening to her daughters play the flute, watching movies with her son, shopping, giving gifts, reading, going out to eat, and traveling. She loved teaching and made many good friends throughout her career. Cynthia’s favorite place to travel was the beach.
She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Gideon Watts. She is lovingly survived by her husband, James Michael Harrison of Brandon; daughter, Kristen Elaine Moore of Pearl; son, James Michael Harrison II and his wife, Keisha McAdams Harrison of Grenada; daughter, Kelli Elizabeth Harrison and her fiancé, Justin Warren of Flowood; grandchildren, Caroline Elaine Harrison, Madeline Elaine Moore, David Michael Harrison, and Elizabeth Lenora Moore. She is also survived by her mother, Loye Watts of Oxford; brother, Andrew Watts and his wife, Gail Watts of Oxford; brother, Robert Watts and his wife, Lisa Watts of Oxford along with many cousins and loving family members.
Memorials may be made by giving blood to the American Heart Association and to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
