Obituary for Curtis Lyle Thigpen
Curtis Lyle Thigpen, 54, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Madison followed by burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at the Parish Hall at Chapel of the Cross. Curtis was born on August 6, 1963, in McComb, the son of the late Jerry and Cynthia Thigpen. A business owner, he owned and operated Clinton Flower Company for many years. Curtis had a passion for music, which lead him to begin working in concert stage production for Morrison Brothers, Malcolm White and Ardenland. He also had a deep love for classic cars. Survivors include daughter, Melanie Thigpen and her mother, Beth McGehee Thigpen both of Madison; sons, Thomas Thigpen (Allison) of Brandon; son, Jordan Thigpen of Madison; son, Taylor Thigpen (Caitlin) of Madison; grandchild, Emerson Lilly Thigpen; brother, Jerry S. Thigpen (Michelle) of Denham Springs, LA and 2 nephews. Memorials may be made to EYC (Episcopal Youth Committee) Chapel of the Cross, 674 Mannsdale Rd, Madison, MS 39110.
