Obituary for Clifton S. "Cliff" Henson
Clifton S. Henson, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Sebrell Funeral Home Chapel. A native of Greenwood, born September 27, 1931, he was the son of the late Oliver C. and Alice Baughn Henson. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University receiving his bachelor’s degree in agricultural education. He was a Mason and attended Lexington Lodge #24 F&AM. For many years, Mr. Henson was a volunteer firefighter with Pickens Fire Dept and had served as Fire Chief. He and his wife owned and operated “Cliff’s Shopette” in Pickens for over 20 years. He will be remembered as an avid gun and coin collector. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed dearly. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Corrine Bratton Henson. He is survived by his daughter, Becky Pepper (Stan), of Ridgeland; son, Terry Henson, of Pickens; grandchildren: Justin Warren, of Huntsville; Kathryn Warren, of Nashville; Sean Henson, of Brandon; Brooke Henson, of Noxapater; and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lexington Masonic Lodge #24, 652 Blvd. Ext., Lexington, MS 39095 or to the Mississippi State Hospital, 3550 MS-468, Pearl, MS 39208.
