Obituary for Clifton Boden Fowler
Clifton Boden Fowler of Flowood departed to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20th, at the age of 69.
Clifton was born in 1948 to James Clifton and Gunnell Boden Fowler of Aberdeen. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at Mississippi State University, and after graduation, he served in the United States Army. His career in banking spanned over 45 years, beginning in 1971 at First National Bank in Jackson. Later, he was the Starkville President of National Bank of Commerce, and most recently, the Rankin County President of the Bank of Forest. Clifton was also a past President of the Board of Trustees and instructor at the Graduate School of Banking at LSU.
Clifton loved Jesus and was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson. In his spare time, he enjoyed fellowship with family and friends, fishing, golf, and Mississippi State athletics. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Sherry (Cribbs), as well as his children Jason and Susan and granddaughter Elin.
A worship service will take place Wednesday, October 25th, at 11:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24th, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the church, as well as prior to the service on Wednesday at 10:00 am. A graveside service will take place at 5:00 pm on Wednesday at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen. Memorial donations may be made to the CUMC Missions Ministry at 6000 Old Canton Rd., Jackson, MS 39211.
