Christopher “Chris” Eric Frantz entered his heavenly, eternal home into the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on November 2, 2022 at the age of 66 after battling dementia. He passed at home with his loved ones. He was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Elinor Frantz. Chris spent much of his childhood in Spartanburg, South Carolina before moving to Starkville, Mississippi and earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University. He spent over 30 years with Eaton working mainly in the aerospace field. He contributed to advancements in radio-frequency engineering and was an avid HAM radio enthusiast. Outside of work, Chris enjoyed refurbishing antique cars, carpentry, metalworking, gunsmithing, photography, and tinkering with anything that piqued his interest. He was a man driven by curiosity and a fierce desire to understand the interworking of complex systems. Chris was very giving, and always willing to impart his knowledge and lend a helping hand. He was a Sunday School teacher for over 10 years. Chris had a delightful sense of humor, a hearty laugh, and an upbeat perspective on life that nurtured those around him. He loved his family, friends, and his precious dog Bebè. Chris will be missed by all fortunate enough to know him. While he is out of our lives temporarily, he lives ever in our hearts.
Chris is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Orange Frantz, and his mother Elinor Klos Frantz. He is survived by his wife, Angele Wambsgans Frantz; his sisters, Dr. Gretchen Mary Frantz and Barbara Mary Frantz; his children, Michele Christina Frantz (John Max McDaniel, Jr.) and Ginger Burns Plaisance (Troy Anthony Plaisance); and his grandchildren Edison Christopher Plaisance and Sophronia Sopa Plaisance.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison, MS, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Jessamine Cemtery in Ridgeland, MS.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
