Obituary for Christina Stephenson "Chris" Rowley
Christina Stephenson “Chris” Rowley passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at St. Catherine’s Village.
Chris was born July 4, 1933 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Christina and Frank E. Stephenson. Spending her childhood in Shreveport, Louisiana, she attended St. Vincent all-girls Catholic School and continued her education at LSU. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. On December 26, 1953, Chris married Stephen Joseph Rowley. Together they had four smart, funny and beautiful daughters. Her daughters added four son-in-laws and a multitude of grand and great grandchildren to the fun.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stephen Joseph Rowley. She is survived by her daughters, Jeanie (Michael) McMullan, Tina (Paul) Davidson, Kim (Ken) Adcock and Stephanie (Tracy) Smith; her sister, Shirley (Dick) Stephenson Flowers; brother-in-law, Lee (Susan) Rowley; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous dear nieces, nephews and other family members.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1242 Lynwood Dr., where a Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m., Fr. John Bohn, celebrant.
Chris met so many wonderful friends at St. Catherine’s Village. She enjoyed her time at such a special place. We want to thank everyone on the staff for their kind and tender care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Hospice or the charity of your choice.
