Obituary for Cheryl Gaye Minshull
Cheryl Gaye Minshull of Brandon, MS passed away peacefully November 29th at Forest Hill Nursing home. She was born January 1, 1954 at Sandia Base Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico to parents Aron and Bernadine Hankins. She graduated from Gallup High School, Gallup, New Mexico with the class of 1972. In 1976, she married her best friend, Charles Minshull. They would have one child, Charles Minshull, Jr. in 1980 while deployed in Athens, Greece. Cheryl was a loving mother, and dedicated spouse. She was present for every moment of her two favorite men’s lives. Cheryl dedicated her life’s work to civil service, working for various U.S. government organizations both stateside and overseas. Her greatest professional accomplishment was her distinguished 30-year career with U.S. Air Force Recruiting. Cheryl’s favorite activity was spending time with her family. She loved to watch her son’s band performances especially. Cheryl loved going to a casino to play slots. She loved crafting ceramics, bowling, bingo, and playing board games and cards at the dining table. Cheryl is survived by her husband Charles Minshull Sr., son Charles Jr. and Jessica Minshull, grandson Max Minshull, mother Bernadine Hankins, sister Reta Jones and George Jones, sisters-in-law Candy and Jules Fauson, Jackie and Harold Bullington, and Patty and Ross Rockstad, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other treasured members of her extended family. Mrs. Minshull is preceded in death by her father Aron Hankins, mother-in-law Betty Minshull, father-in-law Arthur Minshull, and sister-in-law LouAnn ‘Booie’ VanOrnum. In lieu of formal services, Cheryl’s family requests those who shared memories of her add to Cheryl’s Tribute Wall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit charity Cheryl supported in the later part of her life.
