Chassie Craft Lewis was born on November 30, 1973 and passed away on May 14, 2022. A memorial service will be held at the Exchange Church on Friday, May 20, 2022. Service begins at 1:30 pm with visitation one hour prior to service. The Exchange Church is located at 417 N. Bierdeman Road. Pearl, Mississippi.
Chassie was raised in Smith County, MS with many cousins and other extended family whom she remembered fondly and visited when possible. As an adult she moved to Pearl to raise her own family. Chassie loved everyone. She tried to always see the good in people even when it was difficult. She was a kind, giving, and resourceful woman who was quick to aid anyone in need. She was also a very humble person that loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She was an avid reader of John Grisham novels and similar books. She had an eye for decorating and a beautiful fashion sense. She could plan any type of event or celebration and enjoyed spending special moments with friends and family. Chassie was best known as a wonderful mother and teacher of all things practical. She instilled a strong work ethic and morals in her own daughters in addition to the many children she nurtured and cared for. She believed everyone should know practical life skills and would teach them to anyone who asked. She especially enjoyed the work she did with the Girl Scouts and the memories she made with her own daughters. She had a strong faith her whole life. She actively served her church mostly working with children and youth but would joyfully serve in any capacity she was needed. She was a member of The Exchange Church in Pearl. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Craft and Patricia Overby; sister, Tammie Davis; and surrogate sibling, Danny Keyser. She is survived by her three much loved daughters, Addison Lewis, Summer Lewis, Hanna Freeman, and beloved son in-law Sr. Airman Micah Freeman; two siblings, Thad Craft and Christy Tucker; nieces, Christian (Connor) Sutherland, and Jada Plaisance; nephew Zayden Vincent; surrogate siblings, Linda (Phillip) Duckworth, Chad (Elisha) Jones and Robin Keyser. Chassie is also survived by extended family as well as many friends whom she called her “framily”. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
