Obituary for Chase Aaron Lanke
Chase Aaron Lanke, 25, of Mobile, Alabama, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at his residence.
Chase was born on June 4, 1993, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Melody Carr Lanke and Robert Richard Lanke. He grew up in Madison, Mississippi, and attended Madison Central High School where he excelled in athletics and academics. He enjoyed kickball, cross-country and soccer, was a National Merit Scholar Finalist and a 2011 honors graduate. Chase was also an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison.
Chase attended the University of Alabama on a Presidential Scholarship where he graduated summa cum laude in 2015, earning a degree in chemical engineering. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Following college, Chase moved to Mobile, Alabama, to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps to work in the steel industry as a process engineer with AM/NS Calvert.
Chase loved Mobile, his neighborhood, cooking, running, soccer, kickball, and was an active member of Mystics of Time Mardi Gras Association. But most of all, Chase enjoyed a tight-knit group of friends and colleagues who often described him as the life of the party and loving friend, who often referred to him as “Chaz”.
Chase was a wonderful and loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He had an infectious personality and his smile could light up any room. He will be missed dearly. Chase was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernest “Bud” Carr and Betty Dickey Carr; and his uncle, Glynn “Bubba” Carr.
