Charlotte Pearl Loper (Norton), age 89, passed away February 6, 2024 in Florence, MS.
Charlotte was born May 18, 1934 in Wesson, MS. She was an active member of her church, and loved giving back to her community. She selflessly cared for the homeless providing coats, gloves and toboggan hats in the winter time and cooked them hot meals every chance she got. Charlotte really enjoyed her flowers of all types but her favorite was roses of all colors. Charlotte really loved her family and spent most of her life insuring that they knew how much they were loved and cherished. She will be so missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ollie Norton and Joe Robert Norton, and siblings: Carlos Norton, Marie Moore, Margie Lennard, Josie Moak, Charles Norton, Carolyn Millwood, Joe Robert Norton, James Norton, Bonnie Leach and Geneva Plunket.
Left to cherish her memory are Sister Cleo Watkins, Brother Jack Norton her children: Gail Lee, Johnny Morrison, Sammy Morrison and Michelle (Jesse) Morrison, and grandchildren: Angela Ragland, Victoria Campbell, Dale Butler, Becky Amonett, Ray Morrison, Jason Morrison, Amanda Morrison, Kerri Eaton and Jesse Goff, and numerous great grands, other family and loved ones.
Sebrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The wake is Friday, February 9, loop from 5-7pm at Sebrell Funeral Home (425 North Park Dr, Ridgeland, MS.) Funeral Services are Saturday, February 10. Visitation is from 11am-12pm followed by the funeral beginning at noon, and graveside services after, all taking place at Freedom Church (1611 Pleasant Ridge Rd NW, Wesson, MS 39191.)
The family would like to offer their gratitude to nurse Karla Simpson with Gentiva Hospice, Ms. Anita Thomas who faithfully sat with her in her final months, These two loved Charlotte as if she was their own mom. We could not have picked any better servants for Charlotte. Caregivers Ray and Holly Morrison worked 24/7 doing what ever was needed. There’s a host of great grands. They would also like to say thank you to family, friends and church family who have called, visited and offered support during this time.
Rev. Max Smith and Rev. Ellen Casaz will officiate the service.
