Obituary for Charles Levi Pike
Charles Levi Pike of Clinton, MS died peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on July 31st, 2021 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Gonzales Pike; son, Eddie Pike; grandson, Adam Pike; parents, Croque and Mabel Beckham Pike; brothers, Bobby, Johnny, Wayne and Mike Pike.
He is survived by his son, Chuck Pike (Angela) of Florence, MS; daughter, Angel Bowman (Doug) of Pocahontas, MS; brothers, Rex, Bill, Jerry and Luke Pike of Philadelphia, MS; sisters, Kathy Kitrell and Linda Wilcher of Philadelphia, MS, Judy Travis (Larry) of Brandon, MS, Charlotte Boyd (Garland) of Birmingham, AL, and Betty Land of Durant, MS. Grandchildren, Charlie Bowman, Amanda Bowman Murphy, Troy and Houston Pike, Matt and Kristine Pike. Great-grandchildren Beckham and Morghyn Payne.
Charles was an avid outdoorsman who had a great passion for hunting and fishing, which he shared with his family and friends. He began working at a ship yard as a young man in Mobile, Alabama. He later returned to MS where he began managing Paul’s restaurant in Jackson before beginning work at Heart’s Bakery and eventually leaving to work at Harden’s Bakery and retiring as a district manager. Later he would open Broadmoor Meat Market and successfully run it for several years before finally retiring completely in 2002. He was dearly loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
