Obituary for Charles C. Clinton
Charles C. Clinton passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was 87.
A native and longtime resident of Jackson, he was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Ladocia Clark Clinton.
Charles served his country in the U.S. Navy and continued serving his local community as a Firefighter with the City of Jackson, retiring as a Captain following over twenty years of service. Having a love for classic cars and motorcycles and a talent for any kind of mechanics and repair, Mr. Clinton was the owner and operator of Bike Land on McWillie Drive for a number of years. He was a longtime, active Mason. He never met a stranger and could tell you endless stories. He enjoyed his “Coffee Clubs” around town.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Presley Clinton; daughter, Melissa Clinton Linkinhoker (Jeff), of Brentwood, TN; daughter, Dianne King (Randy), of Heidelberg, MS; daughter, Donna McInnis, of Biloxi, MS; grandchildren: Kristen Linkinhoker, of Nashville; Sarah Wright (Chris), of O’Fallon, MO; Tia Cardwell (Andrew), Lacy Chancellor (Wes), all of Laurel, MS; Britt King, of Lafayette, LA; Tori Hindman (Michael), of Union, MS; Carter McInnis (fiancee’ Morgan Alizzi), of Hattiesburg, MS; step grandsons, Jonathan Linkinhoker and Michael Linkinhoker, both from Smyrna, TN; great grandchildren: Kelly Wright, Casen Chancellor, Cal Cardwell, and Coen Cardwell; granddogs Cody and Pepper; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 3327 Old Canton Rd., Jackson, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., the Rev. Ty Pigott, officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery, 18075 East John C. Stennis Dr. in Louisville, MS with interment to follow.
Pallbearers will be Frank Bynum, Roger Bynum, Terry Holder, Don Presley, Marc Presley, Michael Presley, and Chris Eaves.
