Obituary for Charlanne Yarbrough
Charlanne Yarbrough peacefully departed this life on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at her home in Madison, Mississippi. Charlanne was born on December 8, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama.
She is the beloved wife of Jim Yarbrough. She is the cherished sister of two brothers, Noel Haynes (Debbie), of Richland, MS, and Edward Haynes (Sandy), of Denton, TX. Charlanne is the loving mother of Lisa Dees, of Pensacola FL, Lee Bounds, of Madison, MS, and Rivers Laird, of Navarre, FL, and stepmother to Tara Woodward, of Louisville, MS, Ginny Deliman, of Madison, MS, Jamie Yarbrough, of Pontotoc, MS, and Ron Yarbrough (deceased). Charlanne and Jim are blessed with thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Houston Haynes and Lola Haynes, and a baby brother, Wayne Haynes.
A wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother “Mimi,” sister, and aunt, Charlanne was an excellent homemaker and cook. She prepared many meals and loved entertaining her family at home. Time was often spent at the kitchen table playing a mean game of dominoes. Charlanne was exceptionally talented as a seamstress, teaching her daughters and granddaughters how to sew. Her feisty and humorous personality and competitive nature radiated, especially when cheering on her University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
Charlanne loved the Lord, accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young child. She enjoyed singing alto in the choir in the Baptist church where her father pastored. Before her retirement, Charlanne enjoyed a career in the banking industry in Jackson, Mississippi. Charlanne will be deeply missed and loved forever in the hearts of her loved ones and those whose lives she touched.
A service celebrating the life of Charlanne Yarbrough will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., at Sebrell Funeral Home, 425 Northpark Drive, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 12:00 noon.
