Carolyn Tabb Lambert, 78, of Madison, MS, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2023.
Born on April 17, 1945, at Old Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Alice Mayes Watson and Dr. William Granville Tabb, Jr. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating from The Lovett School in 1963. Carolyn returned to Mississippi to attend Millsaps College, where she graduated in 1967. Carolyn raised her three children in Jackson - Ward William Van Skiver, Jr. (Will), John Wayne Van Skiver (Wayne), and Virginia Tabb Van Skiver Wallace (Ginger). She was an active member of many organizations and loved her church homes, Northminster Baptist Church, and most recently, Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Carolyn was an avid gardener and loved to be outside. She adored animals and cared for them through her pet sitting services for close to 40 years. All who encountered Carolyn will remember her generous and loving spirit.
She is survived by her son, Will and his wife Desi, their son Reese, and her daughter Ginger and her husband Ben, their daughters Emslie, Virginia, and Sara Tabb. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Lambert, her brother Bill Tabb, and her son Wayne Van Skiver.
Although their hearts are heavy with grief, Carolyn’s family rejoices that Carolyn is at peace in the presence of her Lord.
Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 432 Bozeman Road, Madison, MS 39110.
