Obituary for Carolyn F. Williams
Carolyn F. Williams went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 81. A native of Brandon, Mississippi, she was born September 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Charles “Buck” and Carrie Wiltshire Farish. Mrs. Williams was a Dental Assistant for over 50 years, retiring in 2001. She had been a member of Galloway United Methodist Church for most of her life. She cared deeply about the Mississippi Children’s Home and a staunch supporter of firefighters, especially the Star Volunteer Fire Department, where her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons serve. Above all, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren who lovingly called her “C.C.” She never met a stranger and lived her life to the fullest. She was loved and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Williams, in 1985; stepfather, Roy Boyd; and her cousin, Mary Ann Mobley. She is survived by her daughter, Ginny Squires, and her husband, Jackie, of Florence; grandsons: Hunter Squires and Zachary Squires, both of Florence; and a host of other loving relatives including Kisha Squires and Cory Squires, 3 great grandchildren, all of Florence, and many friends. Friends are invited to visitation with the family after 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13th, 2017 in the Chapel of Galloway United Methodist Church, 305 North Congress St., Jackson, where the Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the Reverend Emily Sanford, associate Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the Star Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 70, Star, MS 39167.
