Obituary for Carol Sanders Phillips
Carol Jan Phillips died on March 6, 2021 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was 72.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson, and born August 17, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Milford T. Sanders and Lucille Wilson Sanders.
Carol was a graduate of Central High School. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was quick witted and joyous. She never met a stranger nor ever acted her age. She loved her family and was considered a second mom to many of her daughters’ friends growing up. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed so dearly.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Larry Sanders.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John T. Phillips, III; daughters: Carolyn Denise Gilmer (Robert); Tricia Diane Moss (Brent); Christy Marie Acevedo (Luis); and Barbi Elizabeth Phillips (Chris Johnson); brother, Clint W. Sanders; sister-in-law, Gerry Sanders; grandchildren: Brittany, Allison, Sarah, Melanie, Lance, Hannah, Austin, and Alexis; great grandchildren, Scarlett and Sebastian; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 followed by a service at 7 p.m. at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland.
