We are sad to announce the passing of Carol Denise Jordan Denson of Jackson, MS. Denise passed peacefully at the home of her daughter, Brittany, on September 22, 2023, at 67 years of age, surrounded by both of her children and her favorite companion, Pepper.
Denise was born on October 26, 1955, to Evelyn Minshew Jordan and James Basil Jordan in Jackson, MS. She attended Southern Miss and was a dedicated employee of Standard Office Supply for over 10 years in Hattiesburg, MS before finally earning retirement. After her retirement, she moved back to Jackson, MS to be closer to family where she was able to travel more, visit friends and family, relax with her favorite soap operas, and enjoy the simple things in life.
If you ever needed to talk or needed a bit of positivity in your life, you always called Denise. Her smile and laugh were infectious, and she never met a stranger. Denise was a lover of Stevie Nicks, Young and the Restless, her family, friends, and God. She will be tremendously missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Minshew Jordan, and her father, James Basil Jordan.
She is survived by her daughter, Brittany Denson, of Jackson, MS; son, Thomas (T.J.) Denson of Memphis, TN; grandson, Handsome Denson of Memphis, TN; sister, Jennifer Zahn (Charlie) of Marine, IL; brother, Jimmy Jordan (Betty) of Ponchatoula, LA; nieces Kelly Jordan and Lindsay Hobbs, and nephews Patrick, Travis, and Shane Jordan. The family is grateful to Carrie McNair and the staff of Baptist Hospice for their loving care and dedicated service, as well as everyone who called, sent cards/gifts, and visited. Your thoughts and generosity meant the world to her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 pm at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm.
