Obituary for Carey Dewees
Thomas “Carey” Dewees passed away Thursday June 20th, 2019 at Merit Health Madison Hospital in Canton, MS. He was 38. Carey was born on April 2nd, 1981 to the late Thomas Dugan Dewees and Pamela Carney Dewees in Jackson, MS. Carey was a graduate of Madison Central High School and worked for Dewees Dirtworks for many years. Carey was also an outdoorsman. Growing up on a farm he enjoyed sports like, Team Penning, riding horses and camp fires. Carey also loved to go out on a boat and have fun in the water. He was a one- line jokester who was easy to love and had a sweet spirit. Carey loved his dogs- Marley, Denny, Brie and Lucy. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, nephew and cousin who will be greatly missed. Carey is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Dewees of Madison, MS; mother- Pam Dewees of Ridgeland, MS; brother- Curtis Dewees of Ridgeland, MS; uncle- Phil Carney of Washington D.C.; aunts- Patty McMullan of Ridgeland, MS, Dianne Dewees and Trisha Reimers (John); cousin- Kristin Krogstad Tompkins and he adored his nephews and neices. Visitation at Sebrell Funeral Home is Monday from 4:30 p.m.- 6:30p.m. and a memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Madison on Tuesday at 3p.m.
