Bradley Wilson Sellers, 72, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. A private service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Hinds Independent Methodist Church in Raymond, MS.
Brad was born in Raymond on February 28, 1952. He graduated from Raymond High School and attended Hinds Jr. College. He initially worked as a building inspector for Hinds County, but he later transferred to Madison County where he served as Building and Zoning Administrator and Interim County Administrator.
Brad loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. His woodworking skills were stellar. He could build anything, fix anything, grow anything; if you named it, he could do it.
Brad would say that he was an ordinary man, but the depth of his humor, wit, and intellect told a different story. He made friends easily, and he kept them forever. He was a rock for his family, and he was loyal to the core. His love for his family was evidenced in a thousand ways, and his tender care and provision for his wife was his priority until his final moment on earth.
Brad went to Nashville to prepare for new lungs; he got heaven instead. He had a Heavenly perspective and was able to laugh in the face of death. He showed his family how to live well, and he showed them how to die well, too.
The most important thing in Brad’s life was his faith. It was reflected in all areas of his life. He trusted in Jesus Christ alone for his eternal life. Because of this, we know that we will see him again. His death was our loss, but it was truly his gain.
Brad was preceded in death and greeted enthusiastically in Heavan by his son and buddy Bill Sellers; his parents, Loyd and Wanzie Sellers; and his brother, Jimmy Sellers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dolores Sellers; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and J. Wadsworth; grandsons Will Wadsworth and Walt Wadsworth; siblings Kathryn Gore (Gerald) and Randy Sellers (Linda); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We love you, daddy. Can’t wait to see the amazing tomatoes you grow in Heaven.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15
