Obituary for Bing George Crosby
Bing George Crosby, 71, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Hospice Ministries of lung and brain cancer.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at First United Methodist Church of Ridgeland. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow in Mendenhall Cemetery.

Bing was born on April 11, 1950, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Earl Bing Crosby and Mary Crosby. Bing was raised in Baton Rouge, LA, and his family moved before his senior year in high school to Jackson, MS. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Southern Mississippi. During his senior year at USM, Bing helped broadcast football games from MM Roberts Stadium. After graduation in 1973, Bing worked as the circulation manager at The Daily Leader in Brookhaven. He was the co-founder and editor of "The Catfish News." He purchased a video store in Jackson and later opened Super Video in Ridgeland and Flora and expanded his business with a Radio Shack and a budget phone Pre Pay in Flora. Bing was elected President of the MS Video Association and served as president of the Flora Chamber of Commerce. Budget Phone hired him as the MS representative, where he attained the highest sales record.

In 2011, Bing underwent brain surgery after a massive tumor was revealed and began a long road to recovery. Since then, Bing enjoyed working part time for Madison County Journal. Bing and Lucie enjoyed football, baseball, and enjoyed rooting for LSU, USM and other SEC teams and the Atlanta Braves.

He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Ridgeland and held many leadership positions throughout the years. Bing also active in his community in Ridgeland, served on various committees.

Bing is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lucie Whittington Crosby of Ridgeland; son, George Shelby Crosby of Arkansas; grandchildren, Willow and Shelby Crosby of Arkansas.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Ridgeland, 234 West Jackson St., Ridgeland, MS 39157, or to a favorite charity.
