Obituary for Billy Richard Minyard

Billy Richard Minyard, 69, of  Brandon, MS, died May 19, 2023, at his sister’s home in Madison, MS after fighting a tough battle against a horrible disease and leaves us as a fighter just as he has been his entire life.

Mr. Minyard was born April 1, 1954, in Beaumont, TX, to Marvin and Clois Minyard. He was the only son of their six children.

He worked in Hydraulic Sales before retiring in 2021. He always worked hard. He was talented in working on machinery and often invented his own tools to make his everyday life easier.

He enjoyed Nascar, fishing, and spending time around his home with his animals, especially his dog, Token. He often helped people when they needed it. Mr. Minyard had a very special friend, Veronica Kirk, that was like a daughter to him. In his last weeks, spending time with her meant so much to him.

He is survived by his mother, Jimmy Clois Vaughan Minyard of Madison, MS, sisters, Diana Taylor of Rockwell, NC, Lynn Reid (Tim) of Clinton, MS, Cathy M. O’Neal, Pam Minyard, Missy Jones (Jeff) all of Madison, MS, aunt, Bobbie Ross of Ridgeland, MS, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his friend, Veronica Kirk.

He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Minyard, brothers-in-law, Thad O’Neal and Billy W. Taylor.

At his request, no service will be held.
