Obituary for Betty Ann Martin
Betty Anne Martin, 74, soared into the arms of Jesus on July 21, 2021. She was born on June 23, 1947, in Rankin County, Mississippi to the late Leroy and Elois Chandler. She was known for her smile and was known as "Mamaw" to her family and their friends. Mrs. Martin was an active member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church serving in many capacities most notably, Sunday school teacher, GA teacher and Missions. She also served as Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Most of all, Mrs. Martin cherished spending time with her family, Mrs. Martin worked as a successful Avon sales representative for many years, Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Martin; parents, Leroy Chandler, Sr. and Elois Chandler; brothers, Leroy Chandler, Jr., and Reggie Chandler and granddaughter, Kayla Myers Kennedy. Survivors include: Regina Cook of Jackson; Tammy Myers (Donald) of Pearl; sisters, Dora Beal (Billy) of Westpoint, TN; brother-in-law, Buddy Martin (Algie) of Raymond; grandchildren, Christy Cook of Jackson; Charlie Cook of Florence; Lindsey Turner (Josh) of Jackson; Brittney Gaskamp (Jonathan) of Brandon and Kaylon Skipworth of Jackson. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Timothee, Colby, Carly Cook, Kolten, Risher, Parker and Madisyn Kennedy and Damen Skipworth.
