Obituary for Bernardo Blansett, Sr.
Bernardo Blansett, Sr. 76, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday December 12, 2020 at Grandview Baptist Church with burial following in Natchez Trace Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am at the church. Mr. Blansett was born on April 12th, 1944 in Mobile, AL; the son of the late Irvin Baxter Blansett and Dorothy Mae Perez Blansett. A resident of Florence, MS since 1965, he was married for 55 years to the late Carolyn Blansett. Mr. Blansett retired from the oil industry after working for 50 years as a union boilermaker. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, and watching Alabama Crimson football. He also served in the Vietnam war. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Irvin Baxter Blansett and Dorothy Mae Perez Blansett; his wife, Carolyn Blansett; his daughter Nicole Blansett; his brothers, Irvin Blansett and Perry Blansett. He is survived by daughter, Suzette Hawthorne (Clyde) of Florence; son Bernardo Blansett Jr. (Anna) of Minnesota; daughter Michelle Strickland (Billy) of Florence; son Stephen Blansett (Amanda) of Florence; son Jonathan Blansett (Teri) of Florence; sisters, Wanda, Florence, Mary June, Shirley and brothers, Bobby Blansett , Michael Blansett; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
