Obituary for Ben H. Tullos
On May 2, 1936 the Lord gave to Marshall and Evelyn twin sons, John and Ben, born in Magee, MS. On April 19, 2017, Ben’s earthly journey ended and the Lord took him safely home. Ben accepted Christ as his personal savior when he was eleven years old at Wells Memorial Church in Jackson, MS.
Ben was raised in Jackson, MS where he attended Galloway Elementary, Bailey Junior High and Central High. In 1958, he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and moved to Birmingham, AL to work. There, he met and married Sylvia Nix on October 17, 1959 at Woodlawn Methodist Church. Ben’s work years were spent in the agricultural chemical business traveling the states of Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.
His greatest love was for his family and he and Sylvia were blessed with three children and seven above average grandchildren, to whom they have passed the baton of faith in Jesus Christ. Karen Tullos Masterson and her children, Warren Masterson and wife Ann Clark, and Taylor Masterson, Ben Tullos, Jr. and wife, Rhonda and their children Lauren Tullos, Houston Tullos and Caroline Tullos; Evan Tullos and wife, Stephanie and their children, Victoria Tullos and Alexandra Tullos.
Ben is survived by his wife Sylvia Nix Tullos, their three children and seven grandchildren and his twin brother, Jon Tullos. We give thanks for the many friends that Ben grew up from school and church that he has remained close to the years.
