Obituary for Barry Gene Barnett
Barry Gene Barnett was born November 4, 1950 in Paragould, Arkansas to Billy and Mary Lou Barnett. He died Friday, July 15, 2022. He was a long time resident of Alabama, but was currently residing in Starkville, Mississippi to be closer to his family. Mr. Barnett spent his professional career with the phone company, AT&T, which started back when it was South Central Bell. He has preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Ilene May Barnett; and his brother-in-law, Doug Tedder. He is survived by his step mother, Cornelia Barnett, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; daughter, Memrie Tucker and husband Jonathan of Starkville, Mississippi; grandchildren: Ethan Tucker and wife Hollie of Clinton, Mississippi; Reaves, Lily, and Cole Tucker of Starkville, Mississippi; step daughter, Beth Landingham and husband Guy of Westerville, Ohio; step grandchildren Mabry Freeland and Gabe Landingham also of Westerville, Ohio; brother, Tracy Barnett and wife Phyllis of Corinth, Texas; and sister, Connie Tedder Murfreesboro, Tennessee. There will be a celebration of his life on August 20, 2022 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Starkville Mississippi. Per his wishes, Mr. Barnett was cremated and will have his ashes spread at his requested location by a lifelong friend.
