Barbara Hynes Clippard, 75, of Florence, died April 21, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with visitation beginning at 12 noon Saturday. A private family service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Barbara was born on November 20, 1947, in Jackson, the daughter of the late Curtis and Edith Kirk. Barbara was a beautician and cosmetologist and owned her own salon in the Pear Orchard Retirement Community. A faithful Christian, she attended the New Zion Baptist Church. Barbara was known for her kindness and generosity, always helping others. She loved to travel with her family and friends to the beach and the mountains.
Barbara cherished her family and was happiest when all of them were together. She loved to cook out and enjoy time with her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Andy Clippard, brother, Rev. Kenneth Kirk and sister, Gretchen Fleming.
Survivors include: son, Lewis Venable Wells, III and his wife Kelley of Rankin County, MS; son, Derek Wells and his wife Allison of Florence; son, Craig Wells and his wife Stephanie of Flowood; grandchildren, Kirk Wells, Braxton Wells, Laurel Mahaffey, Sydni Mahaffey, Chandler Wells, Jake Wells, Cody Pickell, Cory Pickell, Brandon Pickell, Swayze Wells, John Curtis Wells and Nick Churchill.
