Obituary for Allan Lamar Evans
Allan Lamar Evans, born September 7, 1946, passed away at his home Friday, November 17, 2017. He spent the majority of his life in Jackson, MS, and was the son of the late Martha Watkins Evans and Freeman Lamar Evans. After graduating from Murrah High School, he attended Mississippi State University where he pledged Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. His career was focused around the apparel industry where he represented various clothing manufacturers. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and for many years participated in competitive skeet shooting and motorcycle racing.Some of his favorite times were spent in Fairbanks, Alaska while working on the Alaskan pipeline. In addition to his parents, Allan was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Evans Ross. He is survived by a daughter, Nikki Evans Duncan and son-in law, Drew Duncan; two grandchildren Dylan and Della Duncan; a daughter, Bethany Bailey; a sister, Marabeth Evans Brooks and brother- in- law, Wally Brooks; and a brother-in-law, Bill Ross. He is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, all of whom he loved dearly. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Pinelake Church in Madison, MS with visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made in Allan’s name to French Camp.
