Obituary for Margaret Cassel
Margaret “Marti” Cassel ,71 passed away on May 27, 2017 in Brandon, Mississippi. Marti was born May 17,1946 in Albuquerque, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents John Edward Cassel and Clara Philomena Batenhorst, brother John Jr. and Barbara Jean. She is survived by her only child, a son, Douglas Sheets and wife Olivia and siblings Mary, Kathleen, William and Richard. Marti was a graduate of the class of 1964 St. Pius X High School and New Mexico State University with a degree in Special Education. She also studied Speech Pathology and worked in the Gadsden School District. Teaching children and speech pathology were passions of hers. Marti loved painting, sketching, photography, singing and dancing as well as many other activities. During her life Marti lived in many places across the country including California, Kansas, Arizona, Texas and Mississippi.
Services for Marti will be announced and are to be held at a later date in Albuquerque, NM
